Dining and Drinks in Positano at Le Sirenuse

Le Sirenuse’s breakfast buffet comes with a view

Guests at La Sirenuse get to have a real “wow” moment when they head to La Sponda restaurant for breakfast. The impressive buffet spread is as visually breathtaking as it’s Amalfi Coast surroundings.

A selection of fresh juice (and Prosecco)

Room rates at Le Sirenuse include this next level breakfast buffet. Guests can eat inside the light-filled dining room at La Sponda, or outside on the terrace.

Fresh fruit overlooking the bay of Positano

Tables of fresh fruit and pastries are set against a window that overlooks the blue Tyrrhenian Sea and the hills of Positano.

If the weather’s nice, dine al fresco on the open air terrace

The hot food items aren’t on the buffet but are also included. Eggs were perfected poached and requests for soy and lowfat milk were handled with no fuss.

La Sponda Restaurant is gorgeous and drenched with light during the day

The hotel’s La Sponda restaurant has a Michelin star and a highly romantic atmosphere. At night it’s lit by hundreds of candles.

The hotel offers guests olive oil tastings

Le Sirenuse has activities for it’s guests, such as weekly wine tastings and olive oil tastings.

Tuscan-born Chef Matteo Temperini’s menu focuses on the Mediterranean flavors the regional cuisine of the Amalfi Coast is known for with a modern twist.

The amuse at lunch was a fresh pea soup

The fish was fresh and filled with flavor.

The melanzane alla Parmigiana (eggplant parmaean) was sophisticated and light and delicate yet satisfying. It was by far the best I’ve ever eaten and completely made me re-think my opinion of this Southern Italian dish. The fish was fresh and flavorful.

Drinks are served with incredible local olives

Le Sirenuse hotel has has two different bars. During my stay, I had champagne and cocktails at the main hotel bar and it’s fantastic terrace.

The hotel also has a Champagne & Oyster Bar located on another of the hotel’s many terraces. It had not yet opened for the season during my visit.

The terrace is the perfect spot for a nightcap

During my visit a new retractable roof over the terrace was completed, ensuring that guests will be comfortable  even if it’s rainy or windy. If you’re not staying at Le Sirenuse, it’s worth it come for a cocktail at the bar or dinner at La Sponda.
