I’ve been in Berlin the past few days attending the ITB Berlin Travel Show. Since Hilton Hotels recently announced they were going to devalue their HHonors points, my husband I decided to burn ours off at the recently opened Waldorf Astoria Berlin. The property, located right near the Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten station, just opened on January 3rd.
With so many travel people in town, many hotels are hosting parties and tweet ups on property. I was amazed when I came back to the hotel the other night to find four drummers playing outside the property entrance performing while 10 feet off the ground. They sounded fantastic and were having a lot of fun– I’ll upload some video soon.
The living room of corner suite 1419
The hotel is so new it almost has “new hotel smell” and the carpets are so fresh they’re piling a bit. All the furniture is freakishly devoid of scratches. I thought I’d share some images of the property since not many people have had a chance to see it.

Here are some images of Corner suite 1419 which is light, bright and spacious with a large living area with a work desk, sitting area and the mini bar with an espresso machine as well as a tea kettle with a nice selection of tea. What’s nice about staying in such a pristine new property is that it has been designed with modern business traveler’s needs in mind. There are ample electrical outlets and the heated marble floors in the bathroom are a particularly nice touch since the weather has suddenly reverted back to winter after a day of spring.

The bathroom in suite 1419 has both a deep bathtub as well as a shower with a rain showerhead as well as the hand-held shower head that one normally expects in Europe.
