A Stay at the St.Regis Punta Mita Resort in Room 5401

Cool sheets on a comfy king size bed

My husband and I recently went back to the St. Regis Punta Mita resort for a few days of R&R & margaritas. Since we first visited the resort last year, I’ve noticed something about this hotel– it’s a very popular choice among travel industry insiders, which really says something about the exceptional level of service.

Margarita in the huge outdoor shower outside the bathroom

The staff greets guests with a welcome margarita upon arrival, which is  a great amenity. Like all St. Regis properties, every room comes with  personalized butler service (note: the butler service isn’t stuffy, but more like having a dedicated concierge who makes sure you’re taken care of who you can speed dial)

The beach side plunge pool comes with an ocean view

.the hotel has a gorgeous setting with stunning sunsets. With three pools to pick from, and a sandy stretch of beach, there is plenty to lure you outside of your room.

But when your room is 5401, a luxury 2-bedroom suite with a private pool and kitchen, there’s little need to ever leave it. And we rarely did. We just called the butler when we wanted coffee or guacamole. The resort’s lay out provides guests with a great deal of privacy, and this suite even more so. It’s not surprising the hotel is popular with high profile guests who value privacy.

The large living and dining area, complete with television big enough to watch sports

For the first time in a long while I actually used a hotel room’s television, which was large enough to watch the NBA playoffs.

There was also a 3/4 bath in the entry way which was nice. The room’s layout was spacious provided separation between living and sleeping space and all the furniture was comfortable.

Side-by-side sinks in the bathroom off the suite’s second bedroom

The second bedroom, which I teased was “for the kids we don’t have” was very posh in it’s own right and would have worked well for a family or girls getaway.

Wifi was strong in the room (as well as in my favorite hammock on the beach), and the food at the hotel is delicious. We ate our meals at Sea Breeze restaurant (try the empanadas), and went into town once for an excellent dinner at Si Señor.

I love the clean, chic tropical zen filled vibe of the bedroom’s decor

Getting to Punta Mita from LA is so easy- just a three hour flight– that we hope to get back to the hotel again soon.

We didn’t make it to the hotel’s Remède Spa or the resort’s signature restaurant, Carolina’s on this trip, but we’re cool with that.

A perfect margarita and a plunge pool next to the beach make leaving the room optional

While it’s tempting to not leave your room, Punta Mita’s gorgeous sunsets are best viewed from the hotel’s beach club pool and Sea Breeze bar and not to be missed. Room rates from $429.
